报告摘要:Temporal gene expression data can characterize gene function, and gene expression trajectories under various biological conditions attract significant scientific interest. Most studies have analyzed gene expression trajectories using traditional mean regression models, which often perform poorly due to non-normal distributions, potential outliers, and heteroscedasticity in the data. This paper proposes a so-called asymmetric Laplace process and the properties of this process are discussed. Building on the application of the univariate asymmetric Laplace distribution in quantile regression models, we extend this approach to the multivariate case by assuming the error term follows the asymmetric Laplace process. Further, we explore the likelihood-based EM algorithm to estimate the quantile function of gene expression trajectories, exploring the association between multivariate responses and explanatory variables across different quantiles. The proposed method is validated through simulation studies, demonstrating effective estimation. Additionally, we apply this approach to a real dataset of 18 genes in P. aeruginosa expressed under 24 biological conditions.
