From July 8 to 10, 2024, the "Workshop on Latest Trends in Applied Mathematics and Machine Learning," funded by the Tianyuan Fund for Mathematics of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and co-hosted by the School of Mathematics of Jilin University and the National Tianyuan Mathematics Northeast Center, was held in Room 209 of Zhengxin Building at Jilin University.
The conference invited experts and scholars in applied mathematics from multiple international universities and research institutions to present the latest research advancements. Conveners included Academician Enrique Zuazua (University of Erlangen-Nuremberg), Academician E Weinan (Peking University), Professor Martin J. Gander (University of Geneva), Professor Yong Wen'an (Tsinghua University), Professor Yuan Xiaoming (University of Hong Kong), and Professor Zhang Xu (Sichuan University). Over 30 experts and scholars from more than a dozen domestic and international universities and research institutions attended, including Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing Normal University, Beijing Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Northeast Normal University, University of Dubrovnik, Fudan University, Jilin University, Tianjin University, Westlake University, University of Science and Technology of China, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (Chinese Academy of Sciences), and the University of Georgia.
The successful convening of this workshop built a platform for learning and exchange among experts and scholars in related fields, deepened international academic exchange and cooperation, and effectively promoted the innovative development of mathematics disciplines in Northeast China.
