In this talk, I will introduce the theory of Yang-Baxter and tetrahedron maps, which are set-theoretical solutions to the Yang-Baxter and Zamolodchikov tetrahedron equation, respectively. I will explain their relationship, as well as their connections to matrix refactorization problems and discrete integrable systems. Additionally, I will briefly review some generalizations of the Yang-Baxter and Zamolodchikov tetrahedron equations.
Sotiris Konstantinou-Rizos is an Associate Professor at P.G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University, Russia. He obtained his PhD from the University of Leeds, UK, and completed his undergraduate and master’s studies at the University of Patras, Greece. His primary research interests include discrete integrable systems, Darboux-Bäcklund transformations, soliton theory, and n-simplex equations.
