课程摘要:This short course will cover a range of numerical methods to solve complex multi-physics dynamic problems. The stability, convergence, accuracy and efficiency of different types of numerical methods are discussed. In addition, the applications of numerical methods in the complex acoustic-structure interaction and material design will be introduced. The aim of this short course is for upper-undergraduate and graduate students who want to obtain formal training and experience related to numerical methods for multidisciplinary analysis.

授课人简介:Dr. Eric Li is an Associate Professor at Teesside University. Dr. Li is a Chartered Engineer, and he achieved the status of Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2020. Dr. Li obtained his Ph.D. in National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2012. After his Ph.D., Dr. Li has spent over five years’ research in NUS, The University of Sydney and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Currently, Dr. Li is an associate editor/editor board for three SCI-indexed journals in recognizing his excellent scientific achievements and research leadership. Dr. Li’s research is focused on computational mechanics, including multi-scale modelling of advanced engineering materials and structures, artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, biomechanics, topology optimization, acoustic analysis, development of novel numerical methods in fluid dynamics and solid mechanics, and structural health monitoring (SHM). Dr. Li is the author of over 90 peer-reviewed journal publications. Dr. Li won two prestigious Best Paper Awards in ICCM 2015 Auckland and ICCM 2014 Cambridge respectively. In 2018, Dr. Li has been given ‘international exchanged award’ by Royal Society. In 2019, Dr. Li received two prestigious awards including ICCM International Young Investigator and APACM Award for Young Investigators in Computational Mechanics based on his achievements in published papers. In 2020, Dr. Li awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Trust research fellowship. In 2021, Dr. Li is a finalist for outstanding teaching award (only three people) at Teesside University.
