The candidates could spend roughly one semester per year in Göttingen, beginning the first semester in Jilin. Starting date is 1st of March 2022 (to be adjusted upon mutual agreement). Jilin University is one of the top universities in China. In 2017, the subject of mathematics was selected into the ranks of the national "Double First Class" discipline construction. There are two national centers, Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Northeast China and National Center for Applied Mathematics in Jilin, affiliated to the School of Mathematics of Jilin University. Göttingen is one of the mathematical institutes with the most distinguished traditions world-wide, having been home to Gauss, Riemann, Hilbert, Klein to name just a few of our ancestors. The institute has an ambitious research program in many areas of pure and applied mathematics. The postdoc program features intensive training and cutting-edge research projects in pure and applied mathematics, focusing in particular on geometry, topology, higher structures, PDE, optimization, mathematical physics.
