报告摘要：In this talk, I begin with some basic concepts and methods in the calculus of variations and then discuss some new results on the existence of irregular solutions of certain elliptic and parabolic equations using the method of convex integration that involes many critical features in the calculus of variations.
报告人简介：Yan Baisheng is full-time professor at the Michigan state University. He got his PhD at University of Minnesota. He spent one year at Institute for Advanced Study. His main research interests are partial differential equations, calculus of variations, nonlinear elasticity and applications in continuum mechanics and materials science. Mainly, well-posedness (existence, uniqueness and stability of solutions)。
