Abstract:
The study of symplectic singularities lies at the intersection of algebraic geometry and symplectic geometry and has also attracted considerable interest in geometric representation theory, mathematical physics, and related areas. In this talk, I will introduce some background and survey developments in the field.
Bio:
Baohua Fu completed his undergraduate studies at Peking University before pursuing further studies in France, where he received his Ph.D. from the University of Nice in 2003. He subsequently worked at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) for several years. He is currently a Research Professor at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on algebraic geometry, with contributions to the study of symplectic singularities and their symplectic resolutions, as well as the classification of Fano varieties with group actions.
